The OED chose supercherie as today’s word of the day. A supercherie is: ‘An attack made upon a person at a disadvantage; foul play; an instance of this’ (OED). I thought that it would be rather unkind to go round beating up the disadvantaged, so settled for my own interpretation – super cherry. And it was super, succulent, juicy and delicious – even though it was imported from heaven knows where. Arguably, it does fit the word of the day as I let MisterMac think that I was making cherry pie, so needed cherries when he went shopping. He’s bound to accuse me of foul play, when he realises I’ve eaten the cherries and there is no pie!
Day #19 of a 365 project, where the daily pic is informed by theĀ OED word of the day.
