Before I am accused of spending the day quassing with alacrity (‘Liveliness, sprightliness; briskness, speed; cheerful readiness or willingness’, OED), I would like to point out that I didn’t. I merely SAW these bottles of champagne and thought that I COULD quass them with alacrity. The icy rain meant that there was a lot of ‘briskness’ and ‘speed’ around the pavements and the tube stations, but little of it done with ‘cheerful readiness or willingness’. I was honoured to be invited to Carol Allen Storey’s private view of “CROSSINGS the journey to peace” tonight – now there’s a woman with alacrity! Exhibition runs until the 28th February (at The Pulman Hotel, Euston Road, St. Pancras) and is well worth a visit.
Day #43 of a 365 project, where the daily pic is informed by theĀ OED word of the day.
