110514_LRI didn’t realise that it was Mother’s Day in the US today, but that would explain the word of the day being “Motherese”, which is ‘A simplified form of language used (esp. by mothers) in speaking to babies and young children, characterized by repetition, simple sentence structure, limited vocabulary, onomatopoeia, and expressive intonation; child-directed speech; “baby talk”’, (OED). I suspect that this sweet little car is addressed in motherese.
