In the light of yesterday’s victory, it is not surprising that we have a German word today. A “wirt” is: ‘In Germany and German-speaking countries: a pub landlord, an innkeeper’ (OED). And as luck would have it, I’m in a German-speaking country where Wirtshäuser abound. This was a simple, refreshing mix of elderflower extract and something frizzante. Zum Wohl!

Day #193 of a 365 project, where the daily pic is informed by the OED word of the day.
