This week on the OED front is proving tricky – I have a very limited subject palette and some rather obscure words. Today was particularly problematic – “merlion”, which is: ‘A mythical creature with the head and trunk of a lion and the tail of a fish, regarded as the protector of Singapore’ (OED). Well, that just wasn’t going to happen. I therefore introduce you to Barbie – appetite of a lion, swims like a fish and is MisterMac’s self-appointed protector.
