100914 Procerity, Penny and Squirrels

I broke my ‘no squirrel’ rule as I thought a natural history picture would bode well for the day in store. Squirrel Nutkin was raiding the rubbish bins around South Ken as I was waiting for Penny, to take her to Bath for her Natural History Associateship assessment. I felt that there was a certain “procerity” (“Tallness, loftiness, height; length’, OED) in the lofty sense of the word, to the way Sq. Nutkin was devouring bits of abandoned Kentucky chicken, Sushi and heaven knows what else, whilst remaining totally oblivious to all human activity going on around him. Indeed, he was a most prophetic omen as Penny was recommended for ARPS – and recommended with flying colours. Congratulations Penny! And, BTW, there was definitely a procerity about Penny, in the tallness sense, when we left HQ.

Day #249 of a 365 project, where the daily pic is informed by theĀ OED word of the day.
