Today I was looking for a “pandal”, which is: ‘In South Asia (orig. in southern areas): a shed, booth, shelter, or triumphal arch, esp. for temporary use (at a festival, etc.); a marquee; spec. (among Hindus and Parsees) a tent or booth for a marriage, in which the bridal couple are initially separated by a curtain’, (OED). But it was the wrong time and the wrong place for pandals. The local curry house was the closest I was going to get to South Asia today …
Day #251 of a 365 project, where the daily pic is informed by the OED word of the day.
