“Aberglaube” means: ‘Belief in things beyond the certain and verifiable’ (OED). I believe in Paddington, who is ‘certain and verifiable’, but the fact that Paddington talks, I would suggest is more of an aberglaube. I am also pretty certain that he is not blue:-) This was my first sighting of the Paddingtons around town, can’t wait to find the rest!
