Today’s word was “jetsam” defined as ‘Originally and chiefly in maritime law’, (OED), with various sub-definitions, that involve throwing goods overboard. My day did not take me to places where I would find real jetsam, but I thought the rubbish pile in the street would have been thrown overboard, had it been on a ship.
