I thought the chimney sweep would be fitting for “work-brittle”, which means: ‘Eager to work, industrious, energetic’, (OED). I was hoping for a frontal view, but he was brittling to get to his next job and I just couldn’t keep up with him, let alone overtake, so I’m afraid it’s the back-end of the sweep.
