Morval Road in SW2 and a representation of today’s word, which is “evolution” in the military or naval sense meaning: ‘A manoeuvre executed by troops or ships to adopt a different tactical formation’, (OED). As Morval was an attack during the Battle of the Somme, it is highly likely that it involved some form of evolution.
