190215 Homophonic Pirrie

This is the second time this year that the OED has failed to be relevant. Given that it is the Chinese New Year, I was expecting something ovine or caprine, but as far as I can see, ‘pirrie’, which means ‘A sudden, strong blast of wind; a squall; a storm’ (OED), is neither; nor does it relate to things Chinese in any way. Although it’s wet in London, there’s an absence of windy pirries, so I’ve opted instead for a burger producing homophone, and as one of the Chinese Zodiac symbols is galline, then this satisfies both the occasion and the WoTD.

Day #50 of the second 365 project, where the daily pic is informed by theĀ OED word of the day.
