I dreamt that it was supposed to be spring, but it was unseasonably cold and the rain was hammering on the roof. And then I realised I wasn’t dreaming, I was wide awake and just having a “Daymare” (‘A fearful or frightening fantasy experienced while awake; a daytime nightmare (in literal and figurative senses of nightmare n. 2). Also spec. (now rare): a feeling of suffocation or great distress experienced while fully conscious’, OED). Only it wasn’t a daymare, it was true, so whatever today’s word had been, the pic was going to be something that didn’t involve leaving home.
