Need I say more? And he’s got big feet too – and we all know what they say about men with big feet … big shoes! Oh the old ones are the good ones. Oversized appendages seem to be a bit of a statue thing – the one of Lessing on Judenplatz has the most enormous hands and I cannot believe he was so out of proportion. But they do say that artists have the most trouble with hands – remember the Monty Python picture? Anyway, Goethe aside, the highlight of the day was the official opening of the Brotfabrik – floors of galleries and wall-to-wall photographs. And, of course, several refreshment posts as the Viennese know how to have a good time – you’re never too far from a sausage and a glass of something.
