So along with a non-functioning foot, I now have a non-functioning lens. The focus ring has sheared off and I can only shoot at the focal length it was set to when I last used it, which is about a metre. A long complicated day, which I was only able to get through with the help of MisterMac acting as chauffeur, carrier, cook and walking stick. An accident on the motorway meant a five hour return journey (it should have taken less than two) and so there was no opportunity for seeking out medieval lyric poetry, but with a little imagination, these red blobs could pass as the lamps of the night watchmen.
