“It looks too new and pristine ever to have been read by anyone else, but it has been: it keeps falling open at the most delightful places as the ghost of its former owner points me to things I’ve never read before.” (Helene Hanff, 84 Charing Cross Road)
So this book isn’t pristine, but I love the idea of the ghosts of owners directing my reading, not that I’ve had much time for reading lately as we’ve been putting the finishing touches to Urban Flash. It all came together last night at the launch – a great party with some entertaining speakers. While we wait for the end of the first round, I might find some time to make some inroads into that TBR pile, which is growing at an alarming rate.
