One of the joys of spreading my social media wings is finding entertaining participatory threads and one of my favourites is #authorconfession a series of questions each month, one a day, for us authors to ‘fess up.
Now I don’t want the genuine authors amongst you to think I’m getting ideas au-dessus de gare by calling myself an author, but #authorconfession is based on work-in-progress, of which I have plenty, so I reckon that entitles me to participate.
Anyway, #authorconfession has been set up by @_JM_Sullivan, who today has revealed the cover of her latest work The Wanderland Chronicles: Alice. From the cover, I think we can safely say that it’s going to be somewhat different from the Lewis Carroll classic. So I thought I would pay homage to JMS by taking today’s quote from the original Alice in Wonderland. This is one of my favourites from the novel and, rather conveniently, it works with the pic I snapped at Fortnum & Mason this afternoon.
“’Have some wine,’ the March Hare said in an encouraging tone. Alice looked all round the table, but there was nothing on it but tea. `I don’t see any wine,’ she remarked. `There isn’t any,’ said the March Hare. `Then it wasn’t very civil of you to offer it,’ said Alice angrily.”
