Not normally one for church-going, whenever I’m in Vienna at Easter, I do go to Mass, because if you find the right venue, there’ll be an excellent choir singing a requiem. I don’t think you have to be Catholic to attend – if so, I’ve been attending for years unwittingly under false pretences.
Although the image is from Stephansdom, one of my favourite masses is at the Maria Treu Kirche, Piaristengasse, 1080 Wien. the Easter Sunday Mass begins at 09.30 and then to Cafe Maria Treu for a jolly good breakfast.
